Nothing is as it seems

Belgian's most prominent historic heritage is without a doubt the city of Bruges. I've visited the city for over 20 times and I'm still in love with it! The typical houses and narrow streets and off course, al those bridges keep amazing me.

I was sitting in the car when I saw the sky, so beautifully. Big problem, I didn't had my camera on me! Luckily, I was almost at home. When I arrived, I grabbed my camera, ran upstairs to my room, opened my window and took this picture. That's what I call a room with a view!

This picture was taken on the Grand Place in Brussels, on the national holiday of Belgium. Because it often rains on the 21st of July, we Belgians have an expression for the weather on that day, 'Drache Nationale' ('National Rainy Day').
Just something I noticed : you'll find the difference between a grown-up and a child in the colour.

Make a Wish for the New Year

Taken on vacation in Nord Pas de Calais, France, on the beautiful beach of Wissant, between Cap Blanc Nez and Cap Griz Nez.
Where it all started
In march 2010, my high school organised an art project called 'Kunst op School' (or in English, 'Art at School') where I signed up for the photography class. These classes were organised by Piazza dell'Arte (www.piazza.me). In pairs, we worked around the theme 'Desire' and experimented with the camera's. We finished the week with an exhibition. A whole new world opened up for me! I was so exited! Only a few days later I ordered my Nikon reflex camera, a D3000. I started experimenting and the passion for photography grew. Today it has become part of my everyday life, as my most important hobby.
Here's a selection of the pictures I took during the art project. Two of them were displayed in the Belgian pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 (little bit proud!).
